Malignant Hematologist focused on Myeloma Duke Health - 3.7 Durham, NC Job Details 1 day ago Benefits Dependent care reimbursement Tuition reimbursement Qualifications BC/BE Full Job Description Duke Health - HMCT The mission of the Duke Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapy is to promote health and improve lives by preventing, diagnosing, and treating blood cancer and other life threatening diseases through integrated innovative and holistic patient care, education, and research. The Division is integrated with the Duke Cancer Institute, one of 69 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers. The Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapy (HMCT) Program is a multidisciplinary basic, translational and clinical research program whose overall goal is to improve outcomes for patients with hematologic malignancies. The broad, long-term goal of the HMCT Program is to build on and extend the current knowledge in the fields of leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, hematopoietic cell transplantation, and immunotherapy, and to develop and implement novel strategies for improving therapeutic results in these patients through a collaborative and integrated approach involving all the investigators in the program. Locations; Raleigh, NC The Division of Hematologic Malignancies & Cellular Therapy at Duke Health is seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist with a focus on Chronic Myeloma to join our nationally recognized blood cancer program. We are particularly interested in physicians with several years of experience beyond fellowship who are passionate about academic medicine, clinical research, and education, while delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
Position Opportunities:
Durham - Duke University Medical Center (Academic Focus): Outpatient clinic and infusion services at Duke Blood Cancer Center Inpatient rounding on the blood cancer service Active participation in clinical research and clinical trials Teaching fellows, residents, and medical students Raleigh - Duke Raleigh Hospital Cancer Center (Clinical Growth Focus): Build and expand a myeloma-focused clinical practice Collaborate closely with Duke Blood Cancer Center Participate in tumor boards and clinical trial enrollment Outpatient clinic and infusion services Inpatient consultation on Hematology/Oncology service Upcoming new construction in Wake County (Cary, Garner, and beyond) Build and expand a myeloma-focused clinical practice Inpatient consultation on Hematology/Oncology service at Duke Raleigh Practice will be mostly outpatient for 3-4 years until the hospital is built on this same campus Our myeloma role in Wake County will not have access to CarT capabilities No transplant scope within this myeloma position
Qualifications:
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology Demonstrated focus in myeloma (chronic myeloma is the greatest need) Strong interest in academic advancement, research, and multidisciplinary care
