Category Imaging - IR Tech Job Type Travel Exceptional opportunity for an experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to contribute in a dynamic, Level 1 Trauma Center setting. This contract position is located in Kernersville, NC, offering engagement with a high-volume, state-of-the-art academic medical center recognized for comprehensive stroke and chest pain care.
Key Responsibilities:
Scrub and assist in complex interventional radiology procedures, supporting both neuro and body cases. Circulate within the procedure room, operating advanced imaging equipment and providing necessary supplies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary providers including 3 neurosurgeons, 1 neuroradiologist, 7 body physicians, and advanced practice providers. Maintain procedural and equipment readiness, ensuring efficient patient throughput in one of 8 dedicated IR rooms. Support a fast-paced environment averaging 45-50 cases daily. Participate in departmental support activities including room turnover, inventory, paperwork, and patient transport with assistance from tech extenders. Respond to 3-4 call days monthly and weekend coverage every 5th to 6th weekend, supporting critical care needs.Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Minimum 2 years' experience in Interventional Radiology, specifically in body and neuro cases at a Level 1 Trauma Center. Current BLS certification; ARRT-R or RCIS required. Proven skills in scrubbing, circulating, and operation of Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging systems. Comfortable working with new graduates and providing preceptorship within a growing departmental team. Ability to work varied shifts (3x12-hour, 4x10-hour, or 5x8-hour shifts between 8:00 am and 6:30 pm).Location Highlights:
