Job Description
We are looking for a Medical Provider (Physician/ Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant) -
Pine Ridge Job Corps Center Position Type:
Contract (400 hours per year, typically 1-2 days per week during business hours) Provide on-site medical services, including examinations, assessments, and treatments for students aged 16-24. Issue prescriptions and immunizations, monitor ongoing health conditions, and recommend hospitalization or further care as needed. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all medical encounters in student health records in accordance with HIPAA. Collaborate with the Health and Wellness Director and other center staff to integrate medical services with other student support programs. Participate in Disability Accommodation Committee meetings, case reviews, and health program quality improvement activities. Ensure medical equipment is maintained and government-furnished property is used appropriately. Participate in periodic training, meetings, and teleconferences as required. Provide health education to students and staff on relevant topics. Ensure compliance with all infection control, privacy, and security requirements. Provide qualified substitute coverage as needed.
Qualifications:
Active, unrestricted license to practice independently in the state of Nebraska (MD, DO, NP, or PA as applicable). Valid DEA registration (if prescribing medications). Current medical liability insurance coverage of at least $1 million. Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening if required.
For NPs/PAs:
Proof of prescribing authority and any required collaborative or supervisory agreements with a physician, as required by Nebraska law. Experience working with disadvantaged youth or young adults preferred. Excellent communication, recordkeeping, and teamwork skills.
