The Opportunity Core Clinical Partners is seeking a Hospital Medicine Medical Director to lead our established program at St. Mary's Healthcare in Amsterdam, New York. This is an opportunity for a physician leader who wants to remain clinically active while helping shape the future of a growing hospital medicine program. The Medical Director will partner closely with hospital administration, nursing leadership, Emergency Medicine leadership, and Core Clinical Partners operational leadership to drive quality outcomes, strengthen clinician engagement, support operational performance, and advance strategic program initiatives. The role includes dedicated Medical Director compensation, protected administrative time, and the opportunity to influence program direction while maintaining an active clinical practice. The clinical and administrative structure will be tailored to support the needs of the program and the responsibilities of the physician leader selected. Highlights Physician-founded, owned, and led organization Direct partnership with hospital administration Opportunity to lead and grow an established hospital medicine program Protected administrative time to support Medical Director responsibilities Clinical leadership role with continued active practice Collaborative leadership model across Hospital Medicine, Emergency Medicine, hospital administration, and Core Clinical Partners About the Program St. Mary's Hospital Medicine program is an established 10-clinician practice supported by a daily coverage model that includes day physician, day NP/PA, and nocturnist coverage. Program Highlights 10-clinician Hospital Medicine team Daily coverage model includes: o 2 Day Physicians o 2 Day NPs/PAs o 1 Nocturnist Physician Mid-40s average daily census Open ICU environment with 8 ICU beds Physicians should be comfortable managing ICU-level patients Procedures (strongly preferred) Meditech Expanse EMR with Dragon Collaborative environment with nursing leadership, administration, and multidisciplinary teams Core Clinical Partners manages both the Hospital Medicine and Emergency Medicine programs at St. Mary's Healthcare. This integrated leadership structure fosters close collaboration between departments, supports patient throughput initiatives, enhances communication, and creates alignment around quality, operational, and patient experience goals. Medical Director Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to physicians and advanced practice clinicians Partner with hospital administration and Core Clinical Partners leadership to achieve program goals Support clinician engagement, retention, and professional development Lead quality improvement and performance initiatives Collaborate with Emergency Medicine leadership on patient flow, admissions processes, and operational priorities Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning efforts Support program growth, strategic planning, and operational excellence Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and exceptional patient care Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Hospital Medicine experience required Prior physician leadership experience preferred Demonstrated interest in quality improvement, operations, and physician leadership Strong communication and relationship-building skills Eligible for unrestricted New York medical licensure Compensation & Benefits Competitive clinical compensation Dedicated Medical Director Stipend Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Malpractice insurance with tail coverage CME allowance Leadership support and development opportunities through Core Clinical Partners
