Job Description

Duties Description
  • Work with the Chief Medical Officer and a team of physicians to identify opportunities to streamline the delivery of evidence-based medicine. This will include identifying and implementing approaches that will increase the efficiency of needed specialty care and to identify clinical resources to share with facility providers.
  • Review treatment plans to identify opportunities to utilize virtual specialty care resources.
  • Provide clinical guidance and training on the solutions that the physician group identifies that offer the most efficient venues for providing specialty care (such as telemedicine options as opposed to options that require medical trips).
  • Perform direct patient care - conduct physical examinations; order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures; determine and/or confirm diagnoses; and prescribe and/or administer treatments, medications, therapies, vaccinations, etc.
  • Serve on committees and workgroups to improve clinical services and outcomes; and assists in the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures as directed.
  • Develops, implements, and/or supervise training programs for physicians and medical providers to assist in orientation for new providers and education on policy changes and medical resources.

Promotional Appointment:
One year of service as a Clinical Physician 1, and possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State.

Postgraduate training that is required to obtain full licensure would not be counted towards post-licensure medical experience. Minimum Qualifications for

Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State and two years of post-licensure medical experience.

  • There is a $30,000 geographic pay differential not included in the above salary.
