Position Overview The Director of Internal Medicine will serve as the clinical and operational leader for Aizer Health's Internal Medicine Department. This role combines direct patient care, and leadership responsibilities, including provider supervision, quality oversight, and program development. The Director will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, evidence-based primary care for patients 18 years of age and older and across all conditions. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who is passionate about community health, enjoys leading teams, and is motivated to build and shape a high-performing Internal Medicine Department. This role will entail about 80% clinical and 20% administrative responsibilities. Physicians completing residency training and exceptional early-career physicians with demonstrated leadership potential are encouraged to apply. This is an excellent opportunity for new physicians to grow in their first leadership role. Key Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities
- Examines, diagnoses and treats patients for acute and chronic illnesses. Advises patients concerning diet hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease. Formulates diagnostic and treatment plans.
- Collects, records and maintains accurate patient information within our electronic medical records (e-Clinical Works).
Documents items such as:
appropriate chief complaint, past medical , family, and social history , review of systems, examinations, medications, allergies, assessment and plan.- Communicate on an ongoing basis with other health care providers and other staff on all aspects of the health needs of patients. Attend medical staff meetings and conferences as required . Provides physician leadership and training. Maintain hospital privileges
- Prescribes and administers medications, therapies, suturing and splinting for internal medicine and urgent care patients. Orders lab and imaging tests to determine and manage an immediate treatment plan and provides advice on follow up
- Refers appropriate tertiary care to specialists.
- Keep abreast of current developments and trends in the field of internal medicine.
