Job Description

We are actively recruiting a skilled General Surgery Physician Assistant for our client in New York, with a 48-day assignment commencing Dec 14, 2026. This position involves 10-12 hour shifts, augmented by an on-call schedule that may include weekend rounding and call nights. The selected candidate will primarily focus on surgical first assisting and operating room responsibilities, alongside providing comprehensive medical surgical floor coverage for general surgery, OB/GYN, and orthopedic patients, including daily rounding, progress notes, and managing patient orders. Responsibilities and Duties Provide surgical first assist for various procedures. Perform operating room duties for cases including robotics (Da Vinci), OB (c sections), lumpectomies, hernias, laparoscopy, gallbladder, and appendix surgeries. Cover medical surgical floor duties, including daily rounding and progress notes. Manage patient orders, admissions, discharges, and consults. Work with primarily General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patients. Participate in weekend rounding and call nights as needed. Additional Information Board Certification in General Surgery is required. EMR system utilized is Epic. The schedule includes 10-12 hour shifts plus call. Call duties involve weekend rounding and call nights as needed, with varying coverage needs throughout the assignment period.
