Job Description

DocCare is an established primary care and multi-specialty medical practice with locations in Queens and Hauppauge, NY. We provide compassionate, high-quality healthcare to our patients. We focus on operational excellence, patient satisfaction, and clinical effectiveness to improve health outcomes in our community. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time Physiatrist working one day per week for a minimum of 8 hours per week to join our team. The ideal candidate will specialize in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), providing comprehensive non-surgical treatment for patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic conditions. This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patients' functionality, mobility, and overall quality of life.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and treat patients with physical disabilities, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting mobility and functionality. Perform Electromyography (EMG) studies on patients to assess and diagnose neuromuscular disorders in accordance with established clinical protocols and physician orders. Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation and treatment plans. Collaborate with physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. Prescribe therapy programs, orthotic and prosthetic devices, and assistive technology. Utilize ultrasound-guided injections, trigger point injections, and other non-surgical interventional procedures. Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation strategies and lifestyle modifications. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold DocCare's commitment to excellence in patient care.
Education:
Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.
Minimum Requirements :
Must have an active and unrestricted medical license in the NY state. The ideal candidate is a Board-eligible or board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). We are seeking an individual who is motivated, self-sufficient, and able to work collaboratively with other members of the team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and a multidisciplinary team necessary. Commitment to evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care required.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in pain management, sports medicine, or musculoskeletal rehabilitation is a plus. Credentialed in multiple health plans (preferred).Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems strongly preferred.
