Job Description

Good Samaritan University Hospital, a 537-bed teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center, is seeking a compassionate and motivated Child Life Specialist to join our team on a per diem basis. Job Details Join a collaborate team committed o evidence-based care, continual learning, and improving the patient experience for children and families across Long Island. Responsibilities Provide psychosocial support to pediatric patients and families. Utilize therapeutic play and developmental activities to promote coping and healing. Prepare children and families for medical procedures and hospital experiences. Support families throughout the child's healthcare journey. Maintain documentation and contribute to a safe, child-friendly environment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Creative Arts Therapy, or related field required. Eligible for Child Life Certification (CCLS) within 18 months of hire. Completion of a 600-hour Child Life internship required. BLS/CPR certification required. ( American Heart Association accepted only) Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Pediatric healthcare and/or oncology experience preferred. Posted Salary Range USD $48.02 - USD $48.02 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
