We are seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Physician specializing in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine with strong experience in primary care. This position provides on-site medical services to an adult male population in a correctional healthcare setting. The role offers a professional, structured environment with weekday-only scheduling and an opportunity for long-term placement based on performance and mutual fit.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality medical care in accordance with nationally recognized standards.
- Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and document findings in the electronic health record system.
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests; manage medications and treatment plans.
- Perform patient reclassifications, reviews, and follow-up assessments as required.
- Refer patients for specialized care or additional treatment when indicated.
- Adhere to institutional policies, ethical guidelines, and professional standards of care.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities and peer reviews.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Manage a patient caseload averaging up to 2.
Required Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted Ohio State Medical License.
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
- DEA certification (or eligibility to obtain).
- Minimum Master s degree in a related medical field.
- Minimum 6 months of relevant clinical experience prior to the projected start date.
