Location:
Portsmouth, OH Portsmouth offers a picturesque setting along the Ohio River with a rich history and small-town charm. The city provides easy access to multiple major airports including Columbus, Cincinnati, and Huntington, making travel convenient for locum assignments.
Facility:
This medical center is a well-established healthcare facility serving the southern Ohio region. The facility features a 28-bed department with comprehensive cardiac and thoracic surgery capabilities, providing critical care services to the local community.
Opportunity:
Physician - Thoracic Surgery -
Cardio Thoracic Surgery Job Details:
  • Provide locum coverage for either July 19 from 8am-4pm OR July 17 at 4pm through July 19 until 4pm
  • Handle call coverage and patient rounding responsibilities
  • Manage approximately 10 patient encounters per shift
  • Perform general cardiovascular and thoracic surgery procedures
  • Conduct coronary artery bypass surgery (on pump required)
  • Perform valvular repair and cardiac aneurysm repair procedures
  • Execute lung resection procedures including VATs
  • Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues
  • Insert central lines, arterial lines, and PA catheters
  • Must be board certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Require active Ohio medical license or IMLC eligibility
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • On-site orientation required before starting call coverage
  • Credentialing timeframe approximately 30 days

Compensation:
