Portsmouth, OH Portsmouth offers a picturesque setting along the Ohio River with a rich history and small-town charm. The city provides easy access to multiple major airports including Columbus, Cincinnati, and Huntington, making travel convenient for locum assignments.Facility:
This medical center is a well-established healthcare facility serving the southern Ohio region. The facility features a 28-bed department with comprehensive cardiac and thoracic surgery capabilities, providing critical care services to the local community.Opportunity:
Physician - Thoracic Surgery -Cardio Thoracic Surgery Job Details:
- Provide locum coverage for either July 19 from 8am-4pm OR July 17 at 4pm through July 19 until 4pm
- Handle call coverage and patient rounding responsibilities
- Manage approximately 10 patient encounters per shift
- Perform general cardiovascular and thoracic surgery procedures
- Conduct coronary artery bypass surgery (on pump required)
- Perform valvular repair and cardiac aneurysm repair procedures
- Execute lung resection procedures including VATs
- Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues
- Insert central lines, arterial lines, and PA catheters
- Must be board certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Require active Ohio medical license or IMLC eligibility
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- On-site orientation required before starting call coverage
- Credentialing timeframe approximately 30 days
