Job Description

DEFINITION
The purpose of the Radiology Advocate is to act as an advocate to both Radiology and Patient Access. Orders are to be reviewed and assessed with accurate billing and radiology protocols. The Radiology Advocate will schedule appointments and accept all incoming phone calls, and process the paperwork in the Women's Imaging and the OP Radiology Department. The Radiology Advocate will assure that patient care is provided to all patients and handled in a timely manner by o rganizing and maintaining radiology records, such as patient charts and reports. Coordinating with insurance companies to ensure that claims are processed accurately and on time with the correct order sets and codes. Scheduling appointments and updating patient charts and orders to record test results and other relevant information. Performing administrative tasks such as checking insurance eligibility and checking for accuracy of authorizations for services rendered. Responsible for the proper utilization of Radiology Information System as described and coordinate any necessary changes as needed that meets requirements of reimb ursement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer 1 year medical office experience with Medical Terminology in a Radiology setting. High School graduate. High School graduate
