Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Job Summary We are seeking a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician with an interest in Cancer Rehabilitation to join a growing multidisciplinary rehabilitation program in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This position provides general rehabilitation services with a particular focus on patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses before, during, and after cancer treatment. The physician will provide inpatient, consultative, and outpatient care for patients with cancer as well as individuals with medical frailty and general rehabilitation needs. The role also offers opportunities for teaching, research, academic advancement, and administrative leadership for candidates interested in combining clinical practice with academic medicine. Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation services to patients with cancer and general rehabilitation needs.
Evaluate and manage patients before, during, and after cancer treatment.
Provide inpatient, consultative, and outpatient rehabilitation care.
Assess and manage functional limitations, medical frailty, and rehabilitation needs associated with cancer diagnoses and treatments.
Develop individualized rehabilitation plans designed to improve patients' function, mobility, independence, and overall quality of life.
Collaborate with oncologists, rehabilitation professionals, physicians, researchers, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
Participate in coordinated cancer care and rehabilitation planning.
Educate patients and families regarding rehabilitation goals and ongoing management.
Participate in teaching and mentorship of residents, fellows, medical students, or other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
Pursue research, scholarly activities, and/or administrative leadership based on professional interests and academic appointment.
Contribute to continued development and advancement of cancer rehabilitation services.
Qualifications / Requirements
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Completion of an accredited Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency program.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R).
Strong interest and/or experience in Cancer Rehabilitation.
Fellowship training in Cancer Rehabilitation is preferred but not required.
Interest in inpatient, consultative, and outpatient management of patients with cancer, medical frailty, and general rehabilitation needs.
Current Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to starting.
Strong organizational, communication, teaching, and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation care.
