Job Description

Inpatient Physician Associates takes pride in managing patients through the continuum of care™. Inpatient Physician Associates (IPA) was founded in 1999 by a group of physicians dedicated to providing Hospitalist coverage across acute and post-acute settings in Texas and Pennsylvania. Since then, Inpatient Physician Associates has grown to nearly 95 affiliated providers. We have a dedicated clinical team of Physicians, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Transitional Care Coordinators. Our clinical team is managed by experienced, Board-Certified Medical Directors. Inpatient Physician Associates is driven by four core values of Honesty, Integrity, Caring and Stewardship. The Role This Full-time physician role provides comprehensive health assessments, determining diagnosis, plans and prescribing treatments and managing health care regimens for patients in an inpatient facility. Our organization is looking for a flexible, patient-oriented team player. Qualified candidates will have strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team setting. IPA provides additional training resources and support for those who are interested and qualified but are new to perioperative medicine. Coverage days and hours will be set by selected candidate in collaboration with facility Medical Director. The physician would need to work a 7 on/ 7 off, Monday- Sunday block schedule with back-up MD overnight call (NP onsite coverage Monday- Saturday 24/7). Coverage may involve more than one facility during the day. Coverage also involves rounding with, and supervising, a nurse practitioner team who provides internal medicine/perioperative medical care to elective surgical patients at select surgical hospitals. A Brief Snapshot of Your Duties Work as a Hospitalist MD or DO at multiple facilities. Obtain health histories, conduct physical examinations, provide patient care, patient/family education and discharge of patients from facility Attend multi-disciplinary rounds at site Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory tests Prescribe or recommend pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including controlled medications Does the Following Describe You?
