Schedule:

Part-Time | Flexible Weekdays (Friday Required) The Physician - Addiction Medicine / MAT provides direct medical care and ensures the systematic delivery of high-quality clinical services in an outpatient substance use disorder treatment setting . This role collaborates closely with the Program Director, Clinical Director, multidisciplinary clinical staff, health plans, and community partners to support regulatory compliance, clinical excellence, and client engagement. The Physician is responsible for medical assessments, diagnosis, medication management, and care coordination , with a primary focus on methadone initiation and maintenance and other MAT services. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide direct medical care to clients receiving outpatient addiction treatment and MAT services Complete initial medical assessments and ongoing re-assessments Perform comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations Diagnose medical and psychiatric conditions and prescribe medications as appropriate Initiate, monitor, and maintain clients on methadone and other MAT medications Review laboratory results, EKGs, and monitor blood levels as clinically indicated Provide ongoing medication management throughout treatment Ensure continuity of care, including medication planning for discharge and aftercare Prepare discharge documentation, including physician orders and prescriptions Ensure clients receive adequate medications following discharge Coordinate care with primary care physicians, medical specialists, and collaborating psychiatrists Work collaboratively with medical staff from external providers, including state and inpatient facilities Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and client progress reviews Attend and actively contribute to departmental, medical, and clinical review meetings Provide education, guidance, and clinical support to clinical and non-clinical staff Communicate with clients and staff in a supportive, professional, and respectful manner Seek supervision and clinical direction from physicians and leadership as needed Report unusual incidents or concerns promptly to the Program Director or supervisor Maintain medical equipment in proper working order Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and professional boundaries at all times Complete accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with CARF, state licensing, payer, and accrediting standards Perform additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications Licensure, Education & Experience 2+ years of experience in addiction medicine Experience in Drug & Alcohol (D&A) treatment and Co-Occurring Disorders Experience initiating and maintaining patients on methadone Possession of an active Physician license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Board Certified Physician Family Practice Board Certification preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of federal and Pennsylvania state regulations governing addiction treatment and MAT Knowledge of CARF standards and other accrediting bodies Ability to gather, analyze, and apply medical information Ability to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary treatment team Possession of excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Why Join Pyramid Healthcare?
