Part-Time Physician -
Federal Correctional Institution Location:
Marion, Illinois Schedule:
Part-Time - Approximately 20 Hours per Week / 2 Days per
Week Work Setting:
On-Site, Federal Correctional Institution Position Overview Cetechs is seeking a qualified Physician to provide on-site medical services at a Federal Correctional Institution in Marion, Illinois. This is a part-time opportunity providing general medical care to an adult patient population in a structured federal healthcare environment. The Physician is expected to provide approximately 20 hours of services per week, typically over two days per week . Scheduling will occur Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays, and will be coordinated with facility leadership based on operational needs. Schedule Approximately 20 hours per week Approximately 2 days per week Typically up to 10 hours of service per scheduled workday Monday through Friday No regularly scheduled federal holiday coverage 30-minute unpaid lunch period Approximately 48 weeks of service annually Schedule coordinated with facility Health Services leadership On-site position; remote work is not available Responsibilities The Physician will provide comprehensive medical care to the facility's adult patient population.
Responsibilities include:
Perform complete physical examinations Obtain comprehensive medical and social histories Review all body systems and perform physical assessments Evaluate and document objective clinical findings Order appropriate diagnostic testing Diagnose and treat medical conditions within the Physician's scope of practice Prescribe and manage medications as medically appropriate Refer patients to specialists when clinically necessary Coordinate referrals to community hospitals and admitting physicians when hospitalization is required Maintain accurate and complete electronic medical records Complete required medical documentation by the end of each workday Make recommendations for additional diagnostic testing and treatment Communicate with facility clinical and Health Services leadership Follow applicable federal, state, institutional, and professional standards of care Maintain appropriate professional conduct and awareness of security requirements within a correctional environment Minimum Qualifications Candidates must: Hold a current and valid license to practice medicine Possess the education, knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to independently perform physician services Be able to provide documentation verifying education, professional licensure, certifications, and applicable training Maintain all required professional licenses and credentials throughout employment Successfully complete required Federal Bureau of Prisons credentialing, security, and background/suitability requirements Meet applicable health requirements for working in a healthcare/correctional environment Be able to work professionally with an adult population in a secure federal facility Be able to maintain complete and accurate electronic medical documentation Security and Credentialing The selected candidate will be required to complete federal credentialing and security requirements before beginning services. This may include fingerprinting, background investigation, employment verification, and other federal suitability requirements. Work Environment This position is located within the Health Services Department of a federal correctional institution. The Physician will have regular interaction with adults in custody and must comply with all facility safety, security, privacy, and professional conduct requirements.
