Job Description

Seeking Obstetrics and Gynecology physicians to join a hospitalist team in Newport, Rhode Island. The role ensures every pregnant patient presenting to the hospital receives expert inpatient OB/GYN care, improving patient safety and satisfaction through consistent, experienced physician coverage.
Location Newport, Rhode Island Compensation & Schedule Salary:
$300,000-$340,000 annually plus full benefits Full-time hospitalist with flexible scheduling; typically 7-9 24-hour shifts per month (approximately 21 days off per month) No clinic office management and no on-call responsibilities Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient OB/GYN care, including management of obstetric emergencies Collaborate with local obstetricians, nursing staff, and hospital teams to ensure coordinated patient care Participate in quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives Communicate clearly with patients, families, and care teams Requirements Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology Rhode Island medical license or ability to obtain one Proven ability to manage obstetric emergencies and deliver inpatient OB/GYN care Strong clinical, communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills Commitment to clinical excellence and continuous improvement Benefits Flexible scheduling and potential for bonuses Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage CME allowance and continuing professional development support 401(k) with employer match Medical malpractice insurance with unlimited tail coverage Leadership development and advancement opportunities Physician referral awards and confidential peer-to-peer counseling Access to a national network of OB hospitalists and colleagues This position offers clinical autonomy, a strong work/life balance, and the opportunity to impact maternal and newborn outcomes.
