INTERNAL MEDICINE HOSPITALIST PHYSICIAN

Weekday Monday-Friday Rotation | Holiday Rotation | Nocturnist Coverage as Needed Atwood Medical Associates is seeking an experienced Internal Medicine Physician/Hospitalist to join our hospital-based team. Position Overview We are looking for a physician interested in providing inpatient internal medicine/hospitalist coverage Monday through Friday , participating in a rotating holiday schedule , and providing nocturnist coverage as needed to assist with staffing needs. This position offers flexibility for a physician who enjoys hospital medicine and is interested in a dependable, collaborative practice environment. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to adult patients. Manage admissions, daily rounds, discharges, and consultations as appropriate. Coordinate patient care with nursing staff, specialists, and other members of the healthcare team. Participate in the Monday-Friday Participate in a rotating holiday schedule . Provide overnight/nocturnist coverage as needed for staffing gaps, vacations, or other coverage needs. Respond to urgent patient needs and hospital calls during assigned shifts. Complete timely and accurate medical documentation. Communicate effectively with patients, families, hospital staff, and consulting physicians Qualifications MD or DO degree. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine. Current Rhode Island medical license or eligibility for Rhode Island licensure. DEA registration. Hospital privileges or ability to obtain hospital privileges. Hospital medicine/inpatient experience preferred. Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills. Schedule Monday-Friday Rotating holidays Nocturnist shifts available/as needed Flexible coverage opportunities based on physician availability and hospital needs.
