The Department of Hospital Medicine at South County Hospital is seeking a Nocturnist physician. Full-FTE role available (12 nights per month), will consider Part-FTE role (minimum 6 nights per month). Join a collegial hospital-employed group with a longstanding history of low provider turnover at an independently-operated non-profit community hospital with robust specialty service lines. Live and practice in an idyllic coastal New England area, with the hospital overlooking a salt-pond marina. Nocturnist scheduled from 7:00PM to 7:00AM. Not responsible for creating/assigning a daytime rounding list. Sign out directly to the Hospitalist Rounders at 7:00AM and go. Alleviated start-of-shift volume without built-up pending admissions. A Hospitalist Admitter is scheduled daily from 11:00AM to 9:00PM. Provides a two-hour overlap with the start of the nocturnist shift. Meditech EMR with Vocera Secure Messaging currently, with coming upgrade to Epic EMR and agentic AI/Scribe implementation. Responsible for overnight admissions/consults to hospital medicine services. Variable volume, typically 5-10 admission/consults per evening. Responsible for inpatient hospital medicine cross-coverage overnight, with an average overnight inpatient census 40-50. Open ICU with 24/7 Intensivist coverage. No requirement for procedures, lines, intubation, or ventilator management. BC/BE in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Prior inpatient Hospitalist experience required.
