Job Description
A balanced Pediatric Hospitalist role focused on newborn care, straightforward pediatric admissions, and a supportive, collaborative coastal community practice. Position Highlights
- 7 on / 7 off
- 8:30 AM-4:30 PM in'house; 16 hours call
- Two'physician model on busy days; single coverage on low'volume days
- Call includes nurse consults, ED admissions, high'risk deliveries (no family calls)
- Optional call rooms Team & Support
- APRN support Tues-Sat
- FM residents assist with newborn care
- Part'time pediatric hospitalist for surge & vacation coverage
- RT support, NRP'trained RNs, 24/7 CRNA
- Nursery, L&D, Postpartum, Pediatrics all on one floor Clinical Scope
- Daily census: 8-23
- Majority well newborns; Level II nursery (1-4 typical)
- Occasional Level III (CPAP, hypoglycemia)
- Straightforward peds admits: RSV, asthma, gastroenteritis
- No PICU or complex subspecialty care
Procedures Required:
circumcisions, newborn intubation, needle decompression, catheter placementOptional:
frenotomy, simple polydactyly excision Transfers- Level II nursery (32 weeks, 1500g)
- HFNC, short'term
CPAP, IV
fluids/antibiotics, NG feedsTransfers:
McLeod Level III (~2 hrs ground)- MUSC Level IV (~45 min helicopter) Program Snapshot
- 1,800-2,000 deliveries/year

Team:
2 FT hospitalists, 1 PT (0.8 FTE), 2 PT NPsU.S. ACGME
pediatric residency required Compensation & Benefits- $25K+ sign'on
- $260K-$275K+ shift'based pay
