As a Locum Neonatologist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to some of our most vulnerable patients. In this role, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to manage the health and well-being of premature and critically ill newborns. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes and contribute to the continued excellence of our neonatal care services. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive medical care to premature and critically ill newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and related care settings Perform newborn assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans Manage ventilation, nutrition, and medication protocols for neonatal patients Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and nursing staff to ensure coordinated patient care Respond promptly to high-risk deliveries and provide resuscitation support as needed Document patient evaluations, treatments, and progress accurately in medical records Communicate effectively with families, providing education and emotional support during critical times Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance neonatal care standards Adhere to all medical protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements Provide on-call coverage and support during scheduled shifts as required by contract terms Requirements Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school Board certification or board eligibility in Neonatology Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice (or ability to obtain licensure) Completion of an accredited residency in pediatrics and fellowship in neonatology Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in neonatal care at an associate level or equivalent Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced clinical environments Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety Willingness to work on-site in Mount Pleasant and adhere to flexible scheduling as required on a contract basis

Level II NICU Schedule:
