Job Description
Highpoint Health Sumner - with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatrician to launch and grow a new pediatric practice at Sumner Station in Gallatin, Tennessee , just 30 minutes north of Nashville. This is a unique opportunity to join Highpoint Health Sumner during an exciting period of growth in pediatric care. Sumner Station is planned for expansion into a hospital with a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department and Pediatric Unit , creating an opportunity for the incoming physician to establish a new outpatient practice while helping support and shape a growing pediatric service line. The physician will also provide clinical oversight for an established PA practicing at our Portland clinic , creating an immediate opportunity for collaboration and leadership across our pediatric network. Position Highlights Brand-new pediatric practice at Sumner Station Hospital-employed position Anticipated Monday-Friday schedule Opportunity to build a pediatric patient panel and practice from the ground up Practice positioned alongside the planned expansion of Sumner Station, including a dedicated Pediatric ER and Pediatric Unit Expected to round on pediatric patients admitted at Sumner Station Clinical oversight of an established PA at our Portland clinic Collegial support from established primary care providers in the area who also care for pediatric patients Strong community and primary care network to support referrals and practice growth Clinic support at Sumner Station to include: Office Manager Front desk staff Medical Assistant Initial Sumner Station practice will be physician-led, with plans to add an APP as patient volume increases Additional APP support anticipated as the pediatric service line continues to grow Opportunity to play an active role in APP mentorship, clinical leadership, and pediatric program development Build a Practice. Help Shape a Pediatric Program. This position offers something different from stepping into an established pediatric group. The incoming physician will have the opportunity to serve as the foundation of a new pediatric practice while helping Highpoint Health Sumner expand access to pediatric care throughout the region. While building the Sumner Station patient base, the physician will have an established colleague through the PA currently practicing in Portland, along with relationships with area primary care providers who care for pediatric patients. As volume grows, Highpoint Health Sumner plans to expand the Sumner Station team with additional advanced practice providers, allowing the physician to help develop a collaborative pediatric team and take an active role in the future direction of the service line. The opportunity also coincides with the planned expansion of Sumner Station into a hospital campus with dedicated pediatric emergency and inpatient services , giving the incoming physician the chance to join at an important stage in the development of pediatric care for Sumner County and surrounding communities.
