Inpatient Psychiatrist -
Direct Hire Location:
Richmond, TX (Wayne Scott Unit)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, Day Shift (6:30 AM-5:00 PM options)

Direct Hire Salary:
$250K-$270K annually Overview UTMB Correctional Managed Care (CMC), in partnership with InGenesis, is seeking a full-time Inpatient Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric care within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) system in Richmond, TX . This role supports underserved patient populations in a structured correctional healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Provide direct psychiatric care to assigned patient population Conduct psychiatric, physical, and neurological evaluations Participate in civil commitment and due process proceedings Provide supervision to psychiatric mid-level providers Support psychoactive medication and admission processes Participate in QI/QM programs Provide emergency psychiatric call (rotational) Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and maintain compliance standards Schedule & Work Environment Monday-Friday only (no weekends) No night shifts On-call required (shared rotation, after-hours from home) Secure correctional facility in Richmond, TX (clearance required) No cell phone access onsite Required Qualifications MD or DO with active Texas license Board-eligible in Psychiatry Active DEA registration Preferred 2+ years of experience Correctional or underserved population experience EMR familiarity (Pearl preferred) Comp & Benefits $250K-$270K base salary Full health benefits 401(k) with 100% match Texas State Pension Plan Why This Role No RVUs / no productivity pressure Predictable weekday schedule Strong clinical support Long-term stability + retirement upside
