Job Description

Laburnum Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Physician Provider to join our established primary care practice. Our practice has a long-standing history in the community, with several providers serving patients for over 40 years. We pride ourselves on treating patients like family and caring for multiple generations.
Schedule & Call Responsibilities Clinic Hours:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00
PM Call Schedule:
Approximately every 5 weeks 1 weekend and 3 weekdays per call rotation Call hours: 5:00 PM-7:00 AM Shared call coverage among 9 Laburnum providers and 2 providers from the Chickahominy practice Most after-hours calls result in urgent care or emergency department visits Patient Volume 18-20 patients per day after completion of ramp-up period Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive health histories and physical examinations Exercise independent clinical judgment in assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of medical care consistent with training and experience Formulate diagnoses, identify health risks, and develop treatment plans Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies, including laboratory tests and imaging Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Virginia prescriptive regulations Initiate referrals and consult with specialists as appropriate Review laboratory and imaging results and close daily encounters Respond to patient calls and MyChart messages Refill prescriptions and address patient inquiries Ensure referrals and procedures are completed in a timely manner Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and procedures Evaluate patient responses to therapeutic and diagnostic interventions Participate in on-call responsibilities as assigned Why Join Laburnum Medical Center Long-established practice with deep community roots Supportive, collaborative provider team Multi-generational patient population Commitment to quality care for both patients and staff Opportunities for professional growth and development Laburnum Medical Center has been part of the Richmond community for over 50 years!
