Job Description

We're looking for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine physician to provide locum tenens coverage in Richmond, Virginia. You'll join a busy, well-established MFM practice caring for high-risk pregnancies across both outpatient and inpatient settings. What the day looks like Average scheduled patients per day: 27 High-risk pregnancy volume: ~95% Nursery level: Level III EMR platforms: Epic and Viewpoint Core responsibilities Manage complex maternal and fetal conditions in clinic and the hospital Perform consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and ongoing care plans Work closely with OB/GYNs, neonatology, nursing, and ancillary teams to coordinate care Participate in multidisciplinary planning for patients with significant maternal or fetal comorbidities Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR Procedures and clinical experience expected Amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS) Cerclage experience preferred Comfortable managing high-risk conditions such as: Pre-eclampsia and hypertensive disorders Multiple gestations Fetal growth restriction Chromosomal, congenital, and genetic abnormalities Preterm labor Thrombophilia Birth defects and complex maternal/fetal comorbidities Experience with vaginal and cesarean deliveries in high-risk situations Required qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine Completion of an ACGME-accredited MFM fellowship Active Virginia medical license BLS certification AIUM certification About Richmond Richmond blends historic charm with modern amenities and outdoor recreation along the James River.
