Job Description

Adelphi is recruiting physicians to deliver comprehensive primary medical care to the inmate population at correctional facilities in Waverly and Haynesville, Virginia. Clinicians will provide examinations, diagnosis, treatment, counseling, and medication management within a correctional health setting.

ASAP Minimum Requirements Active Virginia medical license Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) DEA certificate Key Responsibilities Perform medical examinations, diagnose conditions, prescribe and manage treatment plans Conduct physicals and routine medical services for the inmate population Document clinical encounters accurately in each patient's medical record Refer patients to specialists when appropriate and coordinate continuity of care Provide preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to support patient health and quality of life Independently manage daily medical issues and seek guidance for policy or atypical cases Complete additional duties as assigned Complexity & Collaboration Apply medical knowledge, clinical judgment, and proficiency with medical instruments and procedures Evaluate and treat a broad range of patient presentations accurately and efficiently Communicate and consult regularly with patients, facility staff, specialty clinicians, and relevant administrative parties to ensure appropriate care and follow-up
