Job Summary for Manager, Radiology, and Imaging The Imaging Manager is leadership for a large multidisciplinary department (typically CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Mammography, X-ray; often Dexa or Fluoroscopy; potentially Interventional and other applicable imaging modalities) with > 35 headcount in a Level III Medical Office Building. The Imaging Manager is responsible for all operations. Greater than 60% of employees will report to the Imaging Director. We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Manager of Radiology and Imaging to oversee the operational and clinical functions of our radiology and imaging departments. This leadership role requires a comprehensive understanding of medical imaging modalities, healthcare management, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining fiscal health, and optimizing workflow efficiency. Basic Qualifications for Manager, Radiology, and Imaging Experience Minimum five (5) years of experience as a radiologic technologist, sonographer/ultrasound technologist, mammographer, or nuclear medicine technologist. Minimum three (3) years of experience as a radiology supervisor (having had direct reports, responsible for annual reviews, responsible for hiring and terminating employees). Education Graduate of an accredited diagnostic imaging program or Bachelor's Degree or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificate (Washington) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Radiologic Technologist Certification OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificate from Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Responsibilities Lead and supervise radiology and imaging staff, including technologists, administrative personnel, and support teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Oversee daily operations of radiology departments, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory policies such as HIPAA and JCAHO accreditation requirements. Manage fiscal responsibilities including budgeting, financial management, billing processes, and resource allocation to ensure departmental sustainability. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, health policy policies, and accreditation standards related to medical imaging services. Coordinate with medical staff, nursing teams, and other healthcare providers to facilitate efficient patient management and diagnostic workflows. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), patient management software such as Eaglesoft or eClinicalWorks, and other EMR systems. Develop staffing schedules, manage human resources functions including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development initiatives. Monitor quality assurance programs to maintain high standards in imaging procedures while minimizing errors or discrepancies in medical records. Collaborate with finance teams on billing accuracy, coding compliance, managed care contracts, and utilization management strategies. Stay informed about advancements in medical imaging technology and recommend upgrades or new equipment to enhance service delivery.
