Job Description

Position Summary:
A locum tenens opportunity is available for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient care, as well as scheduled clinical hours and on-call duties. The assignment starts on February 1, 2025, and continues through August 1, 2025, with full-time hours and periodic on-call responsibilities.

Shift Schedule :
Four 10-hour shifts per week, with seven 24-hour on-call shifts required per month
Setting :
Inpatient and outpatient care in a Level II trauma center
Patient Volume :
8-12 patients per shift
Electronic Medical Record System :
Epic Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive vascular surgery care, including preoperative assessments, perioperative management, and postoperative follow-ups. Coordinate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care. Manage both scheduled clinical hours and respond to on-call duties within a 20-minute call response time. Participate in phone consultations and in-person call-backs as required.
Requirements:
Licensure :
Active Washington state license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
Certifications :
ACLS and BLS required.
Experience :
Minimum of one year in a vascular surgery setting, with a strong background in cardiovascular and thoracic procedures.
Board Certification :
Certification in your specialty is required; fellowship training is not necessary.
Credentialing :
Expected to be completed within 90 days.
Compensation and Benefits:
Insurance :
Malpractice coverage provided by the vendor.
Travel and Lodging :
Approved travel expenses, with a budget of $3,000 for long-term housing if pre-approved.
Call Compensation :
Includes beeper on-call duties with expectations for timely response.
Support Staff:
Collaborative work environment with 2 RNs, 5 Medical Assistants, 5 Advanced Practice Providers, and 3 office staff members.
Additional Information:
Required Skills :
Experience with a range of vascular surgical procedures and familiarity with Epic EMR.
