Authorized Pay:

Performance Pay:

Up to 15k annually This Physician is the Emergency Department within the Medical Service and practices at the independent clinical level of practice. The Physician has specialized knowledge of practice related to assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of Emergency Medicine conditions. Major Duties but not limited to: Emergency Medicine physicians assess, evaluate, diagnose and initially treat patients in the Emergency Department with any symptom, illness or condition. Stabilize patients with major illnesses or injuries and assess all patients to determine if additional care is necessary. Perform or assist in related procedures. Works as a member of the Emergency Medicine team at the Hershel "Woody" Williams campus of the Huntington VA Hospital. There may be other duties as assigned or required. Preferred Qualifications

ABEM/AOBEM

Board Certification Experience with POCUS, procedural sedation, endotracheal intubation, and advanced emergency procedures Prior experience in a VA or federal healthcare setting Comfort with independent practice in a community-based emergency medicine environment

Work Schedule:

Rotating shifts; combination of 10-hour and 12-hour shifts. Night shift burden is minimal (approximately 6-7 nights per year). Weekend coverage is shared equitably across the physician team (approximately 18-22 weekends per year), consistent with community emergency medicine standards. No formal call schedule. Occasional voluntary coverage assistance may be requested in the event of unplanned absences.
