Job Description

Title:
Orthopedic/Podiatric Advanced Practice Nurse (APN/Nurse Practitioner)
Position Type:
Independent Local Contractor (3 days per week)
Compensation:
$80-$85 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic APN with a strong Podiatric background to join our multi-disciplinary regenerative health team! The right candidate can perform individual job functions with expert level autonomy, in a collaborative environment. The APN-Podiatry is expected to collaborate with physicians, clinicians, vascular specialists and other medical professionals. The role requires the formulation clinical decisions that promote patient wellness, utilizing minimally invasive practices. The role serves multiple locations in north New Jersey. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Interacting with individuals, families, and communities to provide education on foot care and prevention of complications Conducting patient assessments by collecting and reviewing medical histories and ordering appropriate studies, imaging, and testing, including laboratory work-ups Identifying/diagnosing potential/actual health risks, problems, and or diseases Partnering with physicians to develop care plans and communicating the care plans to the patients Educating patients and/or families on medical conditions and providing instructions for proper care and treatment Evaluating care outcomes and initiating changes in the nursing approach accordingly
Expectations/Qualifications:
Ability to diagnose, treat, and manage conditions related to feet, ankles, and lower extremities Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology related to musculoskeletal health Knowledge of circulatory issues and diabetic footcare needs Knowledge of triage procedures along with clinic/ physician's office/ urgent care experience Ability to conduct comprehensive or episodic health assessments and develop patient care plans within clinical nursing practice and medical care protocols Willingness and ability to administer wound care and/or perform minor procedures if appropriate Ability to perform suturing, venipuncture, IV insertion/infusion, catheterization, sterile technique, and aseptic processing Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for the administration of medications and patient care aids Top tier interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly (verbally and in writing) Unwavering professionalism, including, but not limited to poise, tact, diplomacy, dedication, reliability, and punctuality Comfort and proficiency in using medical records/ EMR systems Willingness to learn and grow Ability to create/provide and maintain all necessary documentation in a timely manner Analytical ability and critical thinking skills to gather and interpret data and to develop, recommend, and implement solutions
Minimum Requirements:
Active NJ Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license in good standing Active NJ Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing Podiatric nurse practitioner certification from a recognized national body, such as ANCC (Orthopedic certification may be considered) Recent CPR certifications (BLS and PALS, or ACLS) Ability to demonstrate educational experience, including degrees Ability to pass a background check Ability to pass a drug screening Minimum of 2 positive references Medical records as requested, including titers, medical clearance, and TB testing Ability to obtain professional liability insurance Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience Familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding Willingness and ability to travel to different practices throughout north NJ and to community events Willingness to work Saturdays is a must (current needs are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays) Current valid driver license, in good standing with appropriate insurance Adherence to applicable policies, best practices, and legal mandates, including
