Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and gait analysis to identify foot and ankle issues. Develop personalized treatment plans encompassing medical, surgical, and rehabilitative strategies tailored to each patient's needs. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools such as medical imaging and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems to document findings accurately and track patient progress. Perform minor surgical procedures, wound care, and podiatric interventions with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques. Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals—including orthopedists, radiologists, endocrinologists, and primary care providers—to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on foot health management, injury prevention, proper footwear choices, and lifestyle modifications for optimal outcomes. Stay current with emerging trends in podiatric medicine by engaging in clinical research, continuing education, and specialty certifications such as botulinum toxin treatment or diabetic foot care. Requirements Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure to practice podiatry. Post-residency experience in a clinical setting demonstrating proficiency in diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle conditions. Strong knowledge of medical imaging techniques, EMR/EHR systems like Epic or similar platforms, and CPT coding for procedures. Experience performing surgical procedures including suturing, wound care management, and minor surgeries. Familiarity with interdisciplinary collaboration across specialties such as endocrinology, orthopedics, radiology, dermatology, cardiology, and emergency medicine. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and empathetically. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring patient confidentiality and data security. Ability to work efficiently in inpatient or outpatient settings with hospital experience preferred.
