Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic educational setting as a dedicated School Psychologist and help nurture the growth and well-being of young learners. This full-time, on-site contract opportunity offers an engaging way to contribute your expertise while working closely with elementary students and supportive staff. As a vital member of the team, you'll be assigned to one elementary school, focusing on mental health support, group skills development, and comprehensive assessments. The setting allows you to foster strong relationships with students, staff, and families, making a lasting impact on the school community.
Key Qualifications:
Valid School Psychologist certification for Alabama or eligibility for reciprocal licensure Prior experience in school-based psychological services, including special education evaluations and group skill facilitation Solid understanding of child and adolescent development Ability to perform cognitive, behavioral, and academic assessments Strong communication skills with the capacity to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, and parents Commitment to on-site presence; virtual/remote work is not available for this role
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver psychological assessments, consultations, and direct interventions for students Work collaboratively with special education teams to develop individualized plans and recommendations Lead small skills groups focused on social, emotional, and behavioral growth Serve as a key resource for teachers and parents regarding students' support needs Maintain timely and thorough documentation and participate in eligibility meetings Take advantage of a consistent Monday to Friday schedule with 37.5 hours per week and the chance to support a vibrant elementary school environment.
