Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting elementary students as a full-time school psychologist on a contract basis. This opportunity is designed for passionate professionals committed to nurturing educational achievement and positive behavior in a vibrant school community. In this position, you'll work 37.5 hours each week, focusing on conducting evaluations and implementing effective behavior management strategies within an elementary school setting. Your expertise will shape individualized plans and contribute to a supportive, inclusive learning environment where every student is empowered to succeed.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification as a School Psychologist in Alabama (or eligible for state licensure) Proven experience or clinical internship in an elementary school setting Deep understanding of psychological assessments and evaluation tools Skills in developing and implementing Positive Behavior Intervention Plans (PBIS) Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities Ability to foster relationships with students, educators, and families
Core Responsibilities:
Complete comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments Design and facilitate interventions that promote positive student behavior Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address student needs Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) meetings Provide consultation and training to staff and families on behavior management strategies Maintain clear, organized records and adhere to all federal, state, and local guidelines This role provides meaningful workdays in a collaborative atmosphere, where you'll make a direct impact on students' growth and school climate.
