Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding school-based opportunity as a School Psychologist, supporting young learners' growth and well-being in vibrant elementary settings near Hazel Green, AL. This full-time contract position offers 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, where you will become an integral part of the school community, providing essential psychological services and fostering positive educational experiences.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Active certification/licensure as a School Psychologist Previous experience in school settings, preferably at the elementary level Skilled in conducting assessments, SPED processes, and running skill groups Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families Commitment to supporting students' academic, social, and emotional needs Availability for on-site, in-person work (no virtual roles)
Core Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload within a single elementary school, supporting students with IEPs and other needs Conduct comprehensive assessments and participate in eligibility and reevaluation meetings Provide direct interventions and counseling through skill groups and individual sessions Collaborate with special education teams to develop and implement relevant supports Contribute to data-driven decision making for student progress Maintain thorough records and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations This role is perfect for professionals passionate about advocacy and collaboration within elementary settings, with a desire to impact young lives positively.
