Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting students and educators as a dedicated School Psychometrist on a full-time contract assignment. This role offers a unique opportunity to serve schools near the Roanoke, AL area, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide essential assessments and insights that help shape students' educational experiences.
Key Qualifications:
Hold an active Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) certification in psychometry Proven experience in administering a range of formal psychological and educational evaluations Strong knowledge of assessment interpretation and communication of results to school teams Ability to travel between schools within the district as needed Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Familiarity with participating in special education processes and IEP meetings
Role Expectations:
Conduct thorough academic, cognitive, and behavioral evaluations for students referred by educational teams Clearly interpret assessment results and present them to IEP (Individualized Education Program) teams, helping to develop data-driven education plans Attend and contribute to special education meetings, collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents Maintain accurate, confidential records of evaluations and related documentation Serve as a resource for school staff regarding assessment practices and student support strategies Stay current with latest practices in school psychometry and maintain required certification This contract position offers the chance to build meaningful relationships across schools as you work hands-on to support diverse student needs.
