Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a School Psychologist, providing essential support to elementary-age students for a Long-Term Substitute position from August through Christmas break—with the possibility of an extension. This role offers a full-time, in-person setting in a welcoming academic environment near Norwich and East Lyme, CT. Your expertise will make a meaningful difference each day while working collaboratively with a dedicated team of educators and administrators.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Connecticut School Psychologist certification (required) Demonstrated experience in school settings, ideally at the elementary level Strong understanding of psychological assessments, interventions, and IEP processes Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning space for diverse students
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive student evaluations and interpret psychological data Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop effective support plans Participate actively in child study teams, IEP meetings, and response-to-intervention processes Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation as needed Maintain consistent records and documentation in accordance with district and state requirements This full-time LTS assignment runs from August through Christmas break, with the potential for an extension, enabling you to immerse yourself in a stable and supportive environment.
