Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Located in New Castle, DE, this full-time contract opportunity calls for a skilled School Psychologist to join a large, diverse school district offering a broad range of special education services. The district consists of one preschool, eight elementary schools, three middle schools, one large high school, and a special education school serving ages 3-22 with various programs including medical, intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, and diploma of alternate achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to support students' academic, social, and emotional development. Collaborate with educators, special education coordinators, and other school staff to develop tailored interventions and support plans. Serve primarily at one school site, with possible assignment splits to accommodate testing-heavy responsibilities, particularly at the elementary level. Participate in professional development days, which are compensated and open to contractor involvement.Qualifications and Experience:
Valid school psychologist certification (ability to work with license pending; HR support available for transferring license to DE). Experience within a large district environment and familiarity with a continuum of special education settings. Ability to manage caseloads across diverse student populations, including special education students. Strong collaboration and communication skills to coordinate with team members including a special education coordinator and other psychologists.Team and Environment:
Elementary team typically has 1 to 1.5 psychologists. High school team comprises four psychologists. The district fosters an inclusive and supportive culture with comprehensive special education programs.Interview Process:
