Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact on students' lives by providing essential psychological services in a dynamic educational setting. A dedicated School Psychologist is sought for a full-time contract assignment spanning from August 26, 2026 to June 11, 2027. The assignment covers elementary, middle, and high school caseloads in the Winnetka area, with a primary focus on re-evaluation reviews, eligibility meetings, functional behavioral assessments, and some initial evaluations. Specific caseloads include both Early Childhood (0.6 FTE, 3 days per week) and Grades K-4 (1.0 FTE, 5 days per week) roles.
Key Qualifications:
Active School Psychologist license in the state of Illinois is required. Experience with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and special education processes. Strong communication skills; adept at working collaboratively with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of special education law and best practices in both K-12 and early childhood evaluations. Ability to travel locally as needed, particularly for the Early Childhood position. Commitment to ethical practice and providing support to diverse student populations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, including functional behavioral assessments and eligibility reviews. Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, facilitating clear communication with families, preschool partners, and school teams.
For Early Childhood:
Screen and evaluate students transitioning from early intervention or as referral needs arise; travel between multiple preschool sites. For Grades K-4: Evaluate students, lead MTSS data meetings, and support problem-solving for IEP processes. Maintain accurate, detailed records and contribute to a positive, supportive school environment.
