Job Description
Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting a vibrant PK-8 student community in a dedicated single-school district near Chicago, IL. This full-time, on-site contract opportunity is ideal for professionals who excel in holistic student evaluation and are passionate about fostering positive educational outcomes. Serving approximately 700 students, you'll work closely with staff, students, and families, becoming a valued resource within a close-knit environment.
Qualifications:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist Endorsement Proven expertise in play-based assessment strategies Experience conducting student evaluations that go beyond traditional psychoeducational batteries Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to adapt assessment techniques to meet the unique needs of PK-8 studentsKey Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive psychological services, including direct and consultative support Perform thorough student assessments using both play-based and innovative methods Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement effective interventions Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP processes, and student progress monitoring Support social-emotional learning initiatives and proactive problem-solving within the school Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to all state and district guidelinesWork Details:
Full-time contract position, approximately 32.5 paid hours per week (8:00 AM-3:00 PM, Monday-Friday) 30-minute unpaid lunch break daily Serve students exclusively on-site Bring your expertise and make a meaningful difference in a supportive, forward-thinking school setting.
