District-Wide / School-Based Assignments Position Summary The School Psychologist is responsible for supporting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success of students through assessment, consultation, intervention, and collaboration. The School Psychologist works as a member of a multidisciplinary team to evaluate student needs, assist in educational planning, promote positive learning environments, and ensure compliance with special education regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to assist in determining eligibility for special education and related services. Interpret assessment results and prepare detailed evaluation reports. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, eligibility determinations, Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, and Section 504 meetings. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to develop and implement interventions that support student success. Conduct observations, interviews, and behavioral assessments as part of the evaluation process. Assist in the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs). Provide consultation regarding instructional strategies, behavioral supports, and social-emotional interventions. Support crisis intervention efforts and assist with threat assessments and student safety planning when needed. Utilize data-based decision-making practices to monitor student progress and effectiveness of interventions. Provide individual or group counseling services as appropriate and permitted within district guidelines. Assist in developing and implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) processes. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations. Participate in professional development and maintain current knowledge of best practices in school psychology. Perform additional duties as assigned by district administration. Minimum Qualifications Education & Licensure Specialist-Level Degree (Ed.

S.), Master's Degree plus advanced certification, or Doctoral Degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution. Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement. Must meet all Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) requirements for employment. Experience Previous school-based experience preferred. Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and participating in special education processes preferred. Experience supporting students with behavioral, emotional, and learning needs preferred. Knowledge of MTSS, RTI, behavior interventions, and special education compliance preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of psychological assessment tools, evaluation procedures, and report writing. Strong understanding of child development, learning theory, behavioral principles, and mental health practices. Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable educational regulations. Ability to analyze complex student data and make evidence-based recommendations. Strong crisis intervention, consultation, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, parents, and community agencies. Strong organizational and case-management skills. Ability to manage multiple evaluations, meetings, and compliance timelines. Physical Requirements Ability to travel between district buildings as assigned. Ability to work in classroom, office, and meeting environments. Ability to respond to student crises and emergency situations as necessary. Ability to conduct observations and participate in educational programming throughout school settings.
