Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Bring your expertise as a School Psychologist to a vibrant elementary setting, supporting students from early childhood through 4th grade. This contract opportunity begins August 11th, 2026, and is anticipated to run through May 26th, 2027, with the possibility of extending if emergency days are required. You'll work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, delivering impactful services in a student-focused environment near Palatine, IL.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist (in accordance with state and national standards) Previous experience working with elementary-aged children, from Early Childhood through 4th grade, preferred Strong assessment, intervention, and counseling skills Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and staff Adept at developing and implementing IEPs and behavior intervention plans Superb communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities:
Conduct psychological and academic assessments to evaluate student needs Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop goals and intervention strategies Provide individual and group counseling for students facing academic, social, or behavioral challenges Support the implementation and progress monitoring of IEPs and 504 plans Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to promote positive educational outcomes Contribute to crisis intervention, prevention programs, and staff training as needed This contract position allows you to make a direct difference in young students' lives while becoming a valued resource to staff and families.
