Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting students from PreK to 8th grade by providing essential psychological services in a dynamic elementary school setting. This in-person contract opportunity, located near Palatine, IL, begins August 19, 2026, and continues through June 2, 2027. You'll be vital in fostering healthy learning environments, collaborating with educators and families, and promoting student well-being across all grade levels.
Key Qualifications:
Valid School Psychologist license or certification required. Experience working with elementary-age students (PreK-8th grade) preferred. Strong assessment, intervention, and counseling skills. Ability to adapt approaches for diverse learners and settings. Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities. Must be available for in-person work; no hybrid or remote options.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify students' strengths and areas of need. Develop and implement appropriate interventions, counseling, and support strategies. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create individualized education programs (IEPs) and behavior plans. Participate in multidisciplinary teams to ensure a whole-child approach to student success. Deliver direct services to students, including crisis intervention and social-emotional support. Maintain accurate, timely records in compliance with school and district guidelines. Support a positive, inclusive school climate for all students.
