Wabash River Special Services Cooperative 1329 Second Street, Covington, Indiana 47932 EDUCATIONAL
DIAGNOSTICIAN OPENING
This position is with Wabash River Special Services Cooperative (Covington Community School Corporation holds the contracts for WRSSC employees). Wabash River Special Services Cooperative is based out of Covington and serves seven school corporations including Covington Community School Corporation, MSD of Warren County, Attica Consolidated, Southeast Fountain, North Vermillion, North Central Parke, and Southwest Parke.
Description of Position/Responsibilities:
Educational Diagnosticians are partnered with School Psychologists to assist with the evaluation of students as specified by IDEA/Article 7 to determine eligibility for special education services and serve as a member of multi-disciplinary teams. Additionally, the Educational Diagnostician may assist in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and developing Behavior Intervention Plans. This position covers all seven school corporations. The Educational Diagnostician will travel to schools within the seven school corporations depending on the current evaluation needs. Specifically, Educational Diagnosticians duties will include the following: Send out appropriate ratings scales and other forms to parents and school staff. Complete portions of the evaluation including collecting and summarizing the educational history and social and developmental history portions, complete and summarize observations of students, and administer academic achievement tests and summarize the results. School Psychologists will complete other portions of assessment including cognitive measures, social/emotional assessments, etc. Communicate on a regular basis about cases with the School Psychologists. Communicate results to school staff and parents as part of a multidisciplinary team, including pre-meetings if requested by parents. Attend case conferences and communicate results and multi-disciplinary team recommendations, as assigned. Other pertinent duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
Serve as a member of school teams in the RTI or MTSS process, in assigned buildings and assist the team with tasks such as communication with parents, analysis of data, intervention planning based upon data, discussion of success of intervention, and assist in the determination of referral recommendations. Provide information to school staff and parents regarding disabilities and special education issues and deliver professional development as requested. Participate in cooperative teams and committees as assigned. The position covers multiple school buildings and sites and requires use of personal vehicle for travel with mileage reimbursement.
Job Requirements:
