Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting middle school students in a thriving educational environment near Baldwin City, KS. As a school psychologist, you'll play a pivotal role in fostering a positive atmosphere where every student is empowered to reach their potential. This full-time position runs from early August 2026 through late May 2027, serving a dynamic group of approximately 500 students in grades 6 through 8.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current certification/licensure as a School Psychologist in the state, or eligibility to obtain Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or closely related field Experience in assessment, counseling, and intervention with middle school-aged youth Familiarity with IEP processes, educational testing, and the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families Compassionate and student-centered approach to problem-solving
Role Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for students referred for evaluation Collaborate with teachers and administrators on intervention strategies and educational planning Participate in IEP meetings and provide expertise to multi-disciplinary teams Provide counseling and crisis intervention for students as needed Support students' academic, social, and behavioral growth through evidence-based practices Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to families and school personnel
