Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference supporting students' growth and success as a contracted School Psychologist in the Topeka area. Your expertise will help empower learners and staff while you enjoy flexibility in both caseload and grade level, with a current emphasis on high school re-evaluations. This extended assignment begins August 6, 2026, and runs through May 21, 2027, giving you the opportunity to become an integral resource for your school community.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid, active School Psychologist license in Kansas Thorough understanding of the evaluation and re-evaluation process for special education Experience working with high school-aged students preferred Strong assessment, counseling, and consultation skills Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams Organized, flexible, and solution-oriented approach to student services Knowledge of current legal regulations, ethical standards, and best practices in school psychology Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and interpret psychological evaluations, with emphasis on high school re-evaluations Develop data-driven, student-centered recommendations and collaborate on eligibility decisions Consult with teachers, parents, and support staff to support student interventions Assist in developing and implementing IEPs, 504s, and behavior plans Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and support as needed Maintain thorough documentation and confidentiality at all times Contribute insights to student support teams to promote a positive, inclusive educational environment Be part of a supportive contract team while making a positive impact on students' educational journeys.
