Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a Licensed Psychologist to provide part-time, on-site clinical services at the Potomac Center and Secure Evaluation Therapeutic Treatment (SETT) facility. The role supports individuals with intellectual disabilities, including those with co-occurring mental health conditions and forensic involvement. The Psychologist will play a critical role in delivering therapeutic services, supervising clinical staff, and supporting behavioral and psychological development for residents in a structured care setting. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Supervision Provide clinical supervision and oversight of 3-6 Psychology Associates and their caseloads. Review, approve, and co-sign behavioral support plans, suicide risk assessments, and patient risk documentation. Oversee development and implementation of person-centered treatment plans aligned with individual care goals and court orders. Patient Care & Therapeutic Services Deliver individual (1:1) and group therapy focused on skill development, behavioral improvement, and emotional regulation. Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to support treatment planning and functional improvement. Support individuals with competency attainment services and rehabilitation goals. Address behaviors such as self-injury, aggression, and maladaptive behaviors in a therapeutic manner. Interdisciplinary Collaboration Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, offering recommendations for treatment and care plans. Collaborate with clinical, residential, and vocational staff to ensure coordinated service delivery. Legal & Administrative Duties Prepare psychological summaries for court proceedings and testify at hearings (ALJ and guardianship). Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation as per facility standards. Ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal, and accreditation standards (ICF/ID, OHCQ). Crisis & Behavioral Management Respond appropriately to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques. Promote safe, structured therapeutic environments for residents. Minimum Qualifications Active Psychologist License issued by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Minimum 2 years of experience providing psychological services to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Experience working with dual diagnosis populations, forensic clients, or residential care settings preferred. Required Skills & Competencies Strong expertise in behavioral assessment and intervention planning Experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) Ability to manage complex behavioral and clinical cases Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills Knowledge of court-related psychological services and documentation Ability to operate effectively in a secure and structured care environment
Work Schedule & Conditions Part-Time:
20 hours per week (flexible schedule, subject to approval) On-site work required at Potomac Center/SETT facility in Hagerstown, MD Must comply with facility protocols, safety procedures, and infection control policies Additional Requirements Completion of MANDT crisis intervention training (provided on-site) Maintain CPR and First Aid certification Successfully pass CJIS State and Federal criminal background check Adherence to confidentiality standards, including HIPAA compliance Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) Experience in forensic mental health settings Familiarity with court-ordered treatment programs Prior work in Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF/ID)

$80.00 - $90.00 per hour
