Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity making a lasting impact on students' lives as a school psychologist in a vibrant educational setting near North East, MD. Two positions are available, offering the chance to work with both elementary and middle school populations from now through mid-June. You'll immerse yourself in a dynamic environment, collaborating with dedicated teams and empowering students through psychoeducational evaluations and essential counseling services. Your expertise will help guide multidisciplinary teams and support individual student growth across a range of needs and settings.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
Valid MSDE school psychologist certification required Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students strongly preferred Proficient in conducting psychoeducational assessments Skilled in counseling and supporting students with diverse needs Comfortable participating in MTTS, IEP, and 504 meetings Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Adaptability to variable caseloads and changing priorities
Key Responsibilities:
Complete approximately 70 psychoeducational evaluations (caseload may vary based on referrals) Provide counseling to students as determined by individual needs and caseload Attend and contribute to MTTS, IEP, and 504 meetings Consult with educators, families, and support staff to develop student strategies Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality standards Utilize district-provided technology for evaluations, meetings, and record-keeping The assignment is full-time—37.5 hours per week—aligning with school hours (elementary 8:15-3:45, secondary 7:30-3:00), Monday through Friday. The school provides the technology you'll need to succeed. While experience with remote or hybrid models is valued, in-person presence is preferred for this rewarding role.
