Job Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with both general education teachers and special education teachers Excellent communication and management skills Ability to lead meetings involving difficult conversations Knowledge of eligibility requirements for various disabilities Knowledge of Michigan Standards and Benchmarks Knowledge of County electronic IEP forms Strong understanding of special education procedures Understanding of special education rules and regulations related to compliance Ability to plan specially designed instruction for students with disabilities Familiar with special education assessments both scoring and administration Other duties as assigned.
Job Description:
Actively participate in initial and re-evaluations by collaborating with the other evaluation team members Administer cognitive testing or developmental assessments for initial or re evaluations Administer assessments to help determine needs in the areas of attention, adaptive skills, behavioral support, autism, and similar areas Chair initial evaluation meetings and some re-evaluations (also done by Teacher Consultants) Chair Manifestation Determination Reviews Act as a district representative when needed Act as a finalizer for assigned staff members Obtain initial consents for assigned buildings Work with other MTSS members to identify when/if students should be referred for special education Communicate with other members of Student Support Services regarding evaluations and services for SWD in assigned buildings Actively participate on some Functional Behavioral Assessment and Positive Behavior Support Plan meetings Provide professional development or chair Professional Learning Community meetings Other duties as assigned by building principal or Executive Director of Student Support Services Attend IEP meetings for "out of district" students when Executive Director requests Provide crisis intervention assistance to buildings Participate in trauma referrals/services to students Qualifications Valid Michigan School Psychologist Certificate Masters Degree in School Psychology Experience and training in administering and interpreting psychological evaluations within an educational system Knowledgeable of Special Education rules and regulations
Salary Data:
per EFE Contract. 15 step schedule. Bachelor's lane: $50,831 - $82,897. Master's lane: $55,105 - $87,756, plus $3,000 additional on each step for MA+30 or beyond. We would love to tell you more: http://www.eastpointeschools.org/
