Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic school-based role serving K-12 students in an urban district for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract opportunity calls for passionate School Psychologists eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with mild to moderate disabilities. Working on-site and collaborating with a dedicated network of educational professionals, you'll help create a supportive, inclusive environment that empowers every learner.
What You'll Bring:
Michigan School Psychologist Certification or Preliminary School Psychologist Certification (required) Ability to provide official university transcripts before district consideration Experience with school-age populations, preferably in an urban setting Understanding of the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA federal regulations Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families Empathy and insight into the challenges faced by urban children and familiarity with community resources
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive psychological assessments, including cognitive, academic, adaptive behavior, and social-emotional evaluations Support early identification and intervention for students exhibiting academic, social, or emotional concerns Work closely with multidisciplinary teams; participate in professional development and stay current on educational best practices and regulatory standards Clearly present psychological findings and recommendations to students' families and staff, fostering shared understanding and educational planning Ensure consistent application of special education policies and procedures across school buildings Engage in other duties as assigned
