Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a dedicated School Psychologist for the upcoming school year. You'll work onsite, providing important psychological services and conducting special education evaluations for students from preschool through 4th grade. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and educational staff to ensure student needs are met and compliance with special education guidelines and timelines is achieved. This flexible contract opportunity offers 21 hours per week during the 2026-2027 school year.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting individual assessments and special education evaluations for students, primarily those in preschool through 4th grade (with possible focus on grades 1-4) Collaborating closely with educators, families, and school support staff to design and implement effective interventions and recommendations Participating in eligibility determinations, student support meetings, and developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Maintaining detailed, timely records, and ensuring strict adherence to state and federal special education regulations Offering psychological counseling and crisis intervention as necessary to support the well-being of students Desired qualifications: Master's degree (or higher) in School Psychology Current approval from the Michigan Department of Education as a School Psychologist Previous experience working with school-age children and special education evaluations preferred Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Step into a rewarding, onsite school role where your expertise is valued and your efforts directly support student success.
